The risk assessment describes the process of systematically identifying and evaluating all relevant hazards to which employees are exposed in the course of their professional activities. In addition, it involves deriving and implementing all necessary measures to protect safety and health, which must be subsequently reviewed for their effectiveness. The goal is to identify workplace hazards early and to counteract them preventively, meaning before health impairments or accidents occur.

  • ..

Accordingly, a hazard can arise in particular through:

  • the design and equipment of the workplace and the workplace,
  • physical, chemical, and biological influences,
  • the design, selection, and use of work equipment, especially substances, machines, devices, and systems, and how they are handled,
  • the design of work and production processes, work procedures, and working hours and their interaction,
  • insufficient qualification and instruction of employees,
  • psychological stressors

at work.
