Health and Safety Coordination
The Safety and Health Protection Coordinator (Sicherheits- und Gesundheitsschutzkoordinator), commonly referred to as SiGeKo, is appointed by the client for construction sites when employees of multiple contractors are working on a construction site.
The SiGeKo assumes the tasks according to § 3 of the BaustellV during the planning and execution of construction projects. They are responsible for determining, coordinating, and verifying compliance with the necessary occupational safety and health protection measures.
The tasks of the health and safety coordinator include:
- Completing the pre-notification,
- Creating and updating the health and safety plan,
- Developing documentation for subsequent work on the construction project,
- Ensuring compliance with § 4 of the ArbSchG (General Principles of Occupational Safety/Allgemeine Grundsätze des Arbeitsschutzes).
